PARAMA BHAGAVATA MAHARAJADHIRAJA SRI MAKUGUPTA MAHENDRATIYA ('Great King, Lord Makugupta Mahendratiya the highest stage devotee [of Vishnu]' in Brahmi) Garuda standing facing on cloud with spread wings. The name Makugupta, which is clearly visible on the reverse, is either a new epithet for Kumaragupta, or the new name for a hitherto unattested Gupta King who ruled after him
